Election Day Coverage: Extended WoW Realm Downtime

this is the most suspenseful thing about today; when will they bring my WoW realm back online? I’m starting to have withdrawal symptoms, as I do every Tuesday morning update.

I get a lot of laundry done on Tuesday mornings. It’s also a favorite walking time.

What about the election, I hear you asking? Obama wins. Hope I’m not spoiling things for you.

Hallow’s End, 2008. Zombie Apocalypse?

Zombie Infestation?

I was wondering why I didn’t get around to hitting all the candy buckets in the first Hallow’s End that I experienced in World of Warcraft. I was going back through the screenshots taken at the time and read the Message of the Day posted with the version number for the client software. Ah. That explains it.

The first year I played World of Warcraft was the year they released Wrath of the Lich King, and the world event for Hallow’s End that year was marked by rolling hordes of zombies in all the cities, and mayhem that kept us lows (players who didn’t have characters at max level. Level 70 at that time) from getting anything done.  A world event and a expansion pack release event rolled together, or so it felt at the time.

I remember walking one of my ‘toons into Ironforge and wondering where all the guards were, why was there smoke in the air…?  Suddenly, in the distance, movement in the smoke.  Players? No. Zombies! Every freaking NPC for the city had been turned into zombies by players who had been infected by the undead plague. It’s funny now in retrospect, but I had things to do in the cities, unlike max level characters. I was quite annoyed at the time.  My toons took to sleeping in trees outside the cities until the the patch event had passed.

Tharthurm has always had a thing for this innkeeper.

Oh, well. There is always next year.

Brewfest?

No idea what it is, But it’s fun.

Eieloris in flight to Brewfest. This trek involved hoofing it through the Wetlands to get to Ironforge.
Tharthurm taking tourist pictures with the Orgrimmar guard.
Creavishop is seeing Pink Elekks. They look like elephants for some reason.
I think I’ve found my new favorite thing in the universe.
Peaceful drunken sleep.
